Estimating & Procurement Manager

Location: Port Macquarie Headquarters

Employment: Full Time

  • We are seeking an Estimating & Procurement Manager to take ownership of estimating accuracy, cost control, and supplier performance as we scale.

    This is a key leadership role responsible for:

    • Protecting margins through accurate estimating and disciplined procurement

    • Building scalable estimating and procurement systems within BusinessCraft (ERP)

    • Ensuring efficient project progression between client sign-off and site commencement

    • Driving supplier and subcontractor performance

    Working closely with the broader team, this role helps support efficient project delivery while maintaining quality, consistency, and profitability.

  • Estimating & Cost Control

    • Lead and manage production estimating to ensure accurate, consistent cost outputs

    • Prepare and review residential build estimates

    • Develop and maintain BOQs, pricing libraries, and estimating systems

    • Drive estimating accuracy (target ≥99%)

    • Identify cost risks, allowances, and margin improvement opportunities

    Procurement & Supplier Management

    • Build and manage a preferred supplier and subcontractor network

    • Negotiate trade and supplier agreements to protect margins

    • Align procurement with construction programs to minimise delays

    • Implement and manage purchasing systems within BusinessCraft

    Systems & Process

    • Lead implementation and optimisation of estimating and procurement within BusinessCraft

    • Standardise workflows from sales handover through to site start

    • Maintain accurate pricing data, reporting, and supplier information to support reliable forecasting and cost control

    Commercial & Operational Support

    • Work closely with Sales, Drafting, and Construction teams

    • Support margin governance and budget vs actual cost tracking

    • Contribute to scaling operations to 100+ homes annually

  • Experience

    • 5+ years' experience in residential estimating, procurement, or cost planning

    • Experience in volume or project home building highly regarded

    • Strong understanding of residential construction methods and cost structures

    Skills

    • Strong commercial acumen and cost control capability

    • Systems-focused with experience using ERP platforms (BusinessCraft highly regarded)

    • Proven ability to manage supplier and subcontractor relationships

    • Analytical, detail-oriented, and process-driven
